About the Spencerport Chamber of Commerce

The Spencerport Area Chamber of Commerce consists of a group of volunteers dedicated to preserving and promoting economic growth in the Ogden, Spencerport and South Parma areas of western Monroe County, New York. Chamber members represent a wide variety of fields from the public and private sector, including traditional businesses, both small and large; professional educators; government officials; and private citizens.
Who Can Join?
Any individual, sole proprietor or business owner can join the Chamber and participate in its programs and benefits. Members do not have to live or work in Ogden, Spencerport, or South Parma.

Chamber Benefits
There are a number of benefits afforded to Chamber members, including:

- Health Care - Chamber members can purchase affordable health insurance through Bene-Care. Visit the Bene-Care website at bene-care.com for more information or contact Zach Haight at 585-347-1300.
- Networking - Members can meet and network with a wide variety of business people at monthly luncheon meetings, held the third Wednesday of each month, September through May. Meetings feature program/speakers discussing topics vital to the economic growth of the small communities of Ogden, Spencerport, and South Parma along with Rochester and Monroe County.
- Advertising - The Chamber provides access to advertising in a number of ways, including:
- The production of a printed Business Directory each year lists all members by name and business, with contact information. That directory is also available on this website, which includes active links to members' email and websites.
- The Chamber Board of Directors publishes a list of members annually in an annual community "thank you" in the Westside News.
- Westside News Inc. allows an annual credit of up to $50 on advertising placed in the Suburban News.
- Plaque - Each member receives an engraved plaque that can be displayed in your business to show that you are a member of the Spencerport Area Chamber of Commerce.
Annual Awards
The Spencerport Area Chamber of Commerce presents three awards annually at a banquet in January. These awards are designed to recognize individuals and businesses who contribute an extraordinary value to the community.
- The Clyde Carter Citizen of the Year award honors an individual who has made exceptional contributions to the Spencerport area over the course of several years.
- The Business Person of Year award honors an individual or group of individuals who have greatly contributed to the economic growth and stability of the area.
- The Civic Beautification award honors an individual or group who has added beauty and enhanced the appearance of a specific site within the area. Past recipients include:
The awards banquet is held in late January each year at either the Plantation Party House or the Whittier Party House.
Other awards presented annually by the Chamber include:
- The Spencerport Area Youth Hall of Fame award honors area high school seniors who have faced and overcome various obstacles or displayed great leadership and determination during their formative years. Photos of recipients are displayed for one year in the Ogden Town Hall at 269 Ogden Center Road.
- A Business Scholarship of $500 to $1000 is presented annually to an area high school senior who has chosen to pursue a career in business through enrollment at a university, college or trade school.
